What to do with your money?

I took these notes after seeing Suze Orman's show and added my own to it.   Suze turned out to be a bullshit artist but while she was popular, she created a movement that made people look at their finances.

0 - Do you have credit card or car loan debts? 

1 - Do you have an emergency fund of at least 8 months of living expenses? 

2 - Do you own your home or rent? 

3 - under water 

4 - Did you put down 20% ? 

5 - Are you fully funding your employee sponsored retirement plan? 

6 - Save money in Roth IRAs or fund College Savings (529)Accounts? 

 Don't forget to give some of your money away. If you save for your kids' college education, don't tell them. Surprise them at the end of four years once they graduate. Doing so allows them to create character and allows them to determine if they really want to go to college, to be vested in it and take responsibility for spending thousands of dollars.
